Our
Mission
To share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the
people of
Allegany County by providing food, clothing and household goods; and to
mentor
them to become all that God created them to be.
Our
Vision
·
To operate a Christ-centered kitchen
·
To give clothing and household items to
those in
need
·
To operate a food pantry for those in
need of
nutritious food.
·
To empower individuals to become
productive and
contributing members in their families, churches and community
Our
Need
·
Each year many Allegany County families
lose
their homes and families to natural disasters such as
floods and fires as well
as personal disasters such as divorce, abandonment or abuse.
·
Many residents within our county barely
exist on
a weekly basis on their income which forces them to choose between
feeding and
clothing their families.
·
Many of the low income families lack the
skills
necessary to successfully manage their finances and lives in order to
maximize
their resources.
How
You Can Help
There are many ways that individuals,
congregations or
community groups can help out Wellspring Ministries. Here are just a
few ideas:
·
Provide spiritual support through
prayer and
encouragement
·
Donate needed items to our kitchen,
food pantry,
clothing or household goods
·
Become a volunteer
·
Make a tax-deductible contribution that
will
directly support our mission

Where
Wellspring Ministries started…
During the spring of 2004 several individuals
from two local
churches spoke independently with their pastors to discuss how they
could help
the needy throughout Allegany County. The
pastors put these people in contact with each other who in turn invited
members from five area Christian churches to discuss the beginning of a
local
area ministry. They met on a regular basis for a year
to establish their vision, mission and approach. After
prayerful consideration, Wellspring Ministries, a non-denominational,
non-profit organization was born.
The Angelica Bible Church (now known
as Genesis Bible
Church) voted to allow Wellspring Ministry to use their
old worship facility to provide community services. In
the summer of 2008 the Genesis Bible Church deeded the property to
Wellspring Ministries making the ministry a truly independent
tax-exempt
entity. Here we are today,
fulfilling the very mission and visions that the founders wanted to
provide to
residents of Allegany County.
Wellspring
Ministries is a fully recognized tax-exempt charity by both the IRS and
the
State of New York. All financial and
property donations are tax deductible.
